In September, Steel Plus Network had the pleasure of hosting two remarkable events that spanned two beautiful Canadian cities: Burlington, Ontario, and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Québec. The events were the perfect blend of leisure, learning, and networking, leaving all participants thoroughly satisfied.

Burlington, Ontario

SPN kicked off in Burlington, Ontario, at the picturesque Lowville Golf Course on Britannia Road. The morning started with a friendly round of golf, where participants enjoyed the lush greens and the crisp late-summer air. The competition was fierce, but the camaraderie was even stronger, as colleagues and partners bonded over their shared love for the sport.

After a refreshing round of golf, attendees gathered for a professional development session, hosted by The Achieve Centre for Leadership, focusing on Coaching Strategies for Leaders. The session was designed to inspire and educate, featuring Angie Allen, a psychologist who shared her insights on the latest trends and best practices. The interactive format encouraged lively discussions and provided valuable takeaways for everyone involved.

As the sun began to set, the day concluded with a delightful dinner at the Spanish tapas restaurant, Barra Fion. The menu featured a variety of delicious items, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with laughter and conversation filling the room. It was a perfect end to a productive and enjoyable day.

Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Québec

In Québec, SPN headed to the picturesque town of Mont-Saint-Hilaire, which provided a stunning backdrop for our event. The day began with a presentation from Micheline Morneau, former owner (retired) and Director of Human Resources at Groupe Morneau and her daughter, Sabrina Lévesque, President of TRIO Consultation, who spoke about coaching strategies for leaders. They offered deep insights and practical strategies and both Micheline and Sabrina were engaging and knowledgeable, sparking new ideas and inspiring attendees to think outside the box.

Golf at Club du Golf La Seigneurie was next on the agenda, and the scenic views and challenging holes made for an unforgettable experience. The event concluded with an amazing dinner prepared by Traiteur la Bettyse. The cuisine was exquisite, showcasing the best of Québec’s culinary scene. As participants dined, they reflected on the day, sharing their experiences, and expressing their appreciation for the well-organized event.

Participant Feedback

Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many praised the seamless organization and the thoughtful balance of activities. The combination of golf, professional development, and fine dining provided a well-rounded experience that catered to both personal and professional growth.

One participant remarked, “It was one of the best company events I’ve attended. The golf was fun, the sessions were insightful, and the dinners were simply amazing. I can’t wait for the next one!”

Another attendee shared, “The event exceeded my expectations. It was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues and learn from industry leaders. Kudos to the organizers for putting together such a fantastic event.”

Overall, the events were a resounding success, leaving everyone looking forward to future gatherings. It was a testament to the power of combining work and play, fostering connections, and creating lasting memories.

These events truly highlighted SPN’s commitment to providing enriching experiences for its members and supplier partners. We are already planning the next event and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
